Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute: Watch in Space!, circa 1962

Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute: Watch in Space!, circa 1962

The Breitling Cosmonaute is one of the few watches to have the privilege of being worn on the wrist of NASA astronauts during a mission. On May 24th 1962, Scott Carpenter wore his Breitling Cosmonaute during orbital space flight making it the first Swiss watch worn in space.

This beautiful vintage advert is from 1962 and it proudly displays the watch as the choice of astronauts. Breitling still use yellow in their advertising today and it looks just as good after 55 years. A black matte frames and highlights the advert wonderfully and it would be a welcome addition to any watch or space geeks wall.
